Location
It is situated in Holy city Kurukshetra at Umri Road (near to G.T. Road) and
only Govt Ayurvedic College of Government of Haryana state. The College has a
very good infrastructure i.e. with beautiful new constructed building as per
CCIM norms in total Area of 23 Acres land and having more than 3400 medicinal
plants, a green house, and Separate tube well in herbal garden.
ABOUT THIS COLLEGE:
Shri Krishna Govt. Ayurvedic College was established in 1975 by the government
of Haryana. At present the total out Door patients are more than 30 thousand per
year. This college is affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. It has
intake capacity of Admission of 50 students of B.A.M.S. 1st Professional per
year and 50 students of D.Pharmacy (Ay.). The admission of B.A.M.S. processed in
the college through Haryana P.M.T. test conducted by M.D. University, Rohtak.
The college is functioning with 14 Deptt. (1. Maulik Siddhant 2. Rachana Sharir
3. Kriya Sharir 4. Dravyaguna 5. Ras Shastra & Bhaisjai Kalpna 6. Rog Nidan
7.Swasthvritta 8. Agad Tantra 9. Prasuti Tantra 10. Kaumarbhritya 11. Kaya
Chikitsa 12.Shalya Tantra 13. Shalkya Tantra 14. Panchkarma) and 100 bedded
Hospital in its boundary. The College fulfills the almost essential requirement
of Central council of Indian Medicine from the Infrastructure point of view.
This college is an important Institution in the state of Haryana. Govt. of India
has been selected it as State Model Institute of Ayurveda and also sanctioned &
released a sum of Rs.200 Lakh.
COURSE OFFERED:
B.A.M.S. - Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery.
ELIGIBLITY:
The candidates should qualify on the merit bases of 10+2 (10+2 passed with
P.C.B. at least 40% marks).
DURATION:
5½ years
FACULTY:
All most all teaching and non teaching sanctioned posts have been filled up and
the college is functioning smoothly further, there is also a proposal to create
some additional posts of Professors, Readers, Lecturers Wardens etc in the
college for with budget provision has been made in plan budget during the
financial year 2007-08.
ACCOMMODATION:
The Govt. of India has also released Central Assistance of Rs.50 Lakhs for the
construction of Boys Hostel. New building of Girls Hostel has already been
constructed and is functioning with 96 girls & required staff in the new
beautiful building.
OTHER FACILITIES:
The Govt. of India has released Rs.12 Lakh for purchase of Instrument/
Equipment, books & 20 lakh for renovation of building of College & Hospital in
which additional books of 2 lakh & Instruments of 10 Lakh have been purchased by
the Govt. in the month of March 2006 for this college. The state Govt. has also
granted Rs.20 lakh for maintenance of this College. State Govt. Ayurvedic
Pharmacy and Drug Testing Laboratory is also being established in the campus of
the College for practical training of the student for which necessary budget
provision has also been made in the state plan budget of 2007-08. The Department
of AYUSH & Govt. of Haryana are taking the keen interest and making earnest
efforts for the progress & up gradation of this Institution with the kindness of
Govt. of India & Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra also. The up gradation
processes have been done more in the last few years and progress is becoming
rapidly year to year with all aspects. Now a day Shri Krishna Govt. Ayurvedic
College is a unique Institute not only in Haryana but also in the Northern
India.
